Sharyl Attkisson exposes the carefully constructed narratives created by unseen special interests designed to manipulate your opinion. While this approach seems new, since special interests groups are using media such as Facebook and Twitter; the essential idea of a constructed reality by those with the power and money to build it is almost 100 years old.
Contrast Edward Bernays’ opening statement in the book Propaganda, penned in 1928, “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in a democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country”, with Atkinson’s statement and one realizes the only differences between the two strategies is the venue of use (government versus corporation), the extent of infiltration being made and the perfected ability to conceal the agenda that is now apparent.
Trotter and Le Bon back in the early 1900’s were two of the first researchers to establish the importance of the “Trusted Leader” in mass psychology.
The opinion of the trusted leader is highly valued because most people do not have time to research everything that they need to know and act upon. Let’s call this an “authority hijack” and it is a major propaganda technique.
In Sheryl’s “Cholextra (a drug to reduce cholesterol) example, the special interests hijack the trusted authority of the Doctors by paying for their continuing education, enriching them financially with consultant fees, influencing peer reviewed journals, paying for biased studies and by creating bogus non-profit organizations or disease-related associations that are nothing but shills for Big Pharma.
If you question Sharyl Attkisson’s veracity or her grip on reality, read more from other whistleblowers who have said the very same thing. Read Bad Pharma, by Ben Goldacre MD. and The Truth About the Drug Companies: How They Deceive Us and What to Do About It by Marcia Angell MD., a former New England Journal of Medicine Editor, both are doctors with intimate knowledge of the inner workings of medicine and the propaganda machines that have been created.
This extraordinarily expensive reality (billions) constructed by drug companies, benefit those same drug companies to the tune of trillions of dollars by manipulating the reality encircling you and therefore your opinion. The true facts must be hidden for you to follow the game plan hook line and sinker.
As Sharyl expertly explains, those profiting from the lie will attack anyone who tries to expose the narrative relentlessly.
Effective strategies with which the manipulators try to defeat the whistleblowers include the following:
Simply Ignore The Controversy
The less people that know about alternative ideas the better [The media is obviously complicit here]
Attack The People Who Are Questioning
- Use defamatory language that minimizes the person, organization or personality who dares to speak up.
- Call their ideas “a myth” despite being based in fact (People do not like thinking they are being duped)
- Use terms such as pseudo, conspiracy, paranoid, quack, cranks, lies, nutty and propaganda without appeal to any rational argument or facts
Hire Experts To Discredit Those Who Are Questioning
Use of any of the tactics mentioned above should instantly alert you that the manipulators veil has been pierced and behind that veil lies a truth that is critical for you and your families health, freedom and livelihood.
